Every page cites its official sources and shows when it was last updated. The answers and explanations are written by Recite. We don’t give legal advice: for your own application, the official texts and the French administration have the final word.
Our sources
The knowledge questions come from the official lists published by the French Ministry of the Interior, on formation-civique.interieur.gouv.fr and immigration.interieur.gouv.fr.
For the rules, we start from the texts themselves: the Code civil (civil code), the CESEDA (the code on the entry and stay of foreign nationals and the right of asylum), and the decrees and ministerial orders published in the Journal officiel. We also use the service-public.gouv.fr information pages, ministers’ answers published in the Journal officiel and, for the practical organisation of the exam, information from the approved exam bodies.
What we write
The guides and information pages are written by Akshit and reviewed by the Recite team.
The answer options, the explanations in French, English and Arabic, the situation questions and the guides are written by Recite. The official situation questions of the exam are not published: ours are examples written for practice, not the real questions.
How we check
Every answer and every rule is checked against the official source it cites. When an official source does not settle a point, we say so clearly instead of guessing, and we refer you to the préfecture or to service-public.gouv.fr.
No authority reviews or approves our content. Recite is not affiliated with the French Ministry of the Interior.
Updates
We review the pages regularly, and whenever a rule changes. The “Updated” date on each page shows when it was last reviewed.
